I've been on this forum for years, but never posted, so this is my first! I have searched and searched, but to no avail!
Since day 1 of hooking up this unit, it won't play my MP3's from an SD card. Its now 3 years old and its still driving me nuts! Situation: I've formated several SD cards under fat32 (as pioneer suggested), I have loaded MP3 songs and removed all 'read only' attributes of each song. I've tried with muliple folders (only 1 deep), i've tried with no folders - mp3's directly on the root, etc. etc. etc....Everytime I put in the sd card (from fresh), the unit will play the first song. When the song is over, it cannot find the next song! It sits there and searches and searches and won't go any futher. If I eject the card, the unit will be fine. If I insert the card back in, the unit won't even accept that the card is in there. It just ignores the card. If I put the card back into my PC, I notice it writes a file to the card with a .nnc extension. I also have upgraded the firmware from 2.6 to the 2.8 on Pioneers website.
I called Pioneer, and the guy said it most likely would need to be serviced by them. $230 service charge and two weeks without my deck? No way! My question is this: What would Pioneer do to this unit? Would they just re-load windows CE and the files and start over? If so, how can I do that myself? I read all of the 'upgrading 3.0' threads, which all links to those files are dead...and pioneer says they are now to 4.0, with 5.0 coming with new updated maps in june/july 2012.
Please help!
