I had my 4S connected perfectly via USB for ipod use up until a few weeks ago. I did do a firmware update but can't remember if that was the exact time the issues began...

When i connect the 4S to my head unit via usb i can see the song playing on the head unit, can select, search and everything from the head unit BUT there is zero sound????

The second issue is that the contacts no longer transfer to the head unit from my 4s. I do have over a 1000 contacts but i have had them on there before. the only contact that will show up right now is my voicemail number.

The bluetooth works well. and have been using that for calls and streaming music also works very well.

Confused as all get out on this one! Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

1. Check and make sure AV1 is set to iPod.

2. Try repairing the phone.

Re paired the phone and have set the AV1 to ipod to still no avail. Aha and other forms will not stream via the usb either. The song shoes up on the headunit and plays there is just no music??? profoundly lost.

What cable are you using to connect the iPod to the AVIC?

+1, and are you getting album artwork?

I have a cable bought from Crutchfield that worked great... had video and audio at the head unit up until the lack of sound started to happen. I do have the album artwork for all of my music, i can control music and all just no sound. if i play you tube videos on my phone while connected i get the sound but no video. at one point i thought the cable had come loose on the back of the radio but nothing would work if that was the case.

and thanks in advance for the help... using bluetooth right now for music but i want to get my head unit control back!
