I figured what the heck, what do I have to lose, $12? So I ordered one of those cheap cameras from China that flood eBay. Surprisingly it feels like it's a decent quality! The camera housing itself is aluminum and is completely sealed and watertight by the looks of it. The RCA cable was the PERFECT length, and the RCA cable also has a single wire that runs along with it which made it SUPER easy to run power all the way back to the camera!
and the perfect place to put it on my 06 Tacoma, right above the trailer hitch
tapped into the reverse signal wire, which is really easy to get to on this truck. it's the red with a white stripe wire on the top of the two plugs just behind the driver's side kick panel. I HATE these quick connects with a passion, but I'm really hesitant to hack up a factory wiring harness... so we'll see how this holds up
wired the camera to have power with the ignition so I could view the cam whenever I wanted to
