Just recently my z1 started freezing up and sometimes even rebooting while driving. It also boots up a little bit slower and occasionally freezes at the pioneer splash screen. Ive had it for over a year with out any problems and it has just started acting up recently. Im thinking of applying the Lock-Up and Freezing Issue firmware update, but I dont know what the consequences will be since it has the 80gb hdd and upgraded to the z3?

Your version already includes all firmware updates. It won't even accept it if you try.

You can try to reinstall the stock drive or replacement drive. You could also try a level 3 reset from the owners manual.
