I have an AVIC-F30BT and until yesterday has worked fine. I swapped my mode to navigation whilst returning home to avoid a nasty que of traffic, it found no satellite signal and also placed me in the middle of the sea somwhere near Portsmouth (not helpful). I waited until the traffic stopped again and turned the ignition off for a minute or so until the traffic moved again this did not help the unit still had me in the sea.

 

As I said it has until now worked fine and usually gets a strong satellite signal, is there any way to hard/Factory reset this model or should I try a new Antenna?

first i would check the antenna, then i would suspect software, then at last i would suspect the hardware.

 

you will need to be able to test and check for all of these.

 

what kind of signal does the unit say that it is getting? if it shows that it is getting a great signal, i would not expect there to be a problem with the antenna.
