Hello all... I'm new here, but have been browsing here for quite sometime. I have also searched the forum and could not find the answer to my issue.

I am a new owner of an Avic Z140 system. I have the unit installed, and is working good. The unit is installed in a 2004 Audi S4. The issue i am having is that when I put the unit in the dash, the antenna signal seems to drop dramatically. All I hear is STATIC. It has an amplified antenna hooked onto it. When I pull the unit out,the signal seems to get a little better. Is there anyone out there having similar issues?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I recently installed an AVIC-Z140BH into my SLK55 AMG and had the exact same issue.

I received a powered antenna adapter as part of a kit that I ordered from Dietz Electronics and it turned out to be a bad adapter.

I went to the local electronics store and purchased a standard antenna adapter and now it works perfect.

Who ever did the install should fix this for you. There should be no reception issues at all with the new radio.

all has been taken cared of. I had a defective amplified antenna.
