MotionXGPS Drive External Display

Has anyone purchased the $25 External Display for MotionXGPS and used it with the AppRadio? Currently I'm running MotionXGPS and the head unit displays the maps with touch functions for zoom in, mute live voice, change maps, and display turn list. The iPhone allows more and was wondering what is included in the External Display package and if it allows you to change your music from the head unit rather than the iPhone.

Frankly, I can't see that it did anything. I watched a youtube and it looks like you can do things on your iphone while it is still running on the AppRadio. I was hoping it would let me use the HU as the control point. I'm not sure if I have the settings correct.

After email discussions with MotionX, the AppRadio does not need the External Display option. This is only for the AppRadio 2 which apparently you have to pay the additional $25 to make it work.
