Moved an F700BT from my son's car to mine. The microphone seems dead. It did work previously (months ago). Now no response to any voice commands. I've tried to narrow down the problem by sustituting another mic from my computer. That necessitated using a 3 conductor 1/8" to 3/32" adapter. I know the oem is 2 conductor 3/32, but it should work anyway. Still no response. I've updated to the most recent versions available on the Pioneer website, both system firmware, 2.008, and BT firmware, 3.3. Next step is to take a look inside the unit. Any other ideas?

Buy a replacement one for 25$ if it doesn't work return it. Amazon has them and will except quick returns. At least this way can truly rule out the hardware of the mic.
