I have AVIC-S1 the bluetooth works with my Tre 700w except when i go to transfer my contact it freezes up the AVIC unit I am doing something wrong

the s1 does freeze a bit when performing tasks. Also, keep in mind many bluetooth functions are limited as with the z1. I would guess that much of the compatibility would be similar to the z1 as well.
