I have read the manual - top to bottom - twice!

Some annoying things or am I missing something...

1. Is there a quick sound mute button or a shortcut anywhere?

2. Phone dialler; speed dial for your top ten contacts?

3. Downloaded POI base speed cams. If not navigating (just have nav running without route) no warning on speed cameras is given. It shows other POI's overlaid ok. Is this stupid or what?

4. This will probably have to be a hack mod; is there a way to turn disclaimer off so it doesn’t appear at every start up?

AFA mute, it isn't exactly instantaneous, but press and hold the Voice button (lower left button) to toggle mute on/off. DOn't need to read the manual twice, just get the PDF file and search for mute.

Also as far as the speed cams (black spots) POI's are concerned, there is a limit on how many the unit will take. Firstly, I've downloaded the whole of Europe speed cams via POI base software which was fine but software wouldn’t copy all EU countries to SD card. I then disabled the limit in POI base software (as per their instructions - saying AVIC imposed this limit but users had success loading all POI’s by disabling the limit). I did this, it then loaded onto SD card ok but AVIC would not import. Once I re-enabled the limit in POI base software AVIC accepted the reduced POI’s but I had to omit 6 countries.

This is stupid! So if I drive from Italy to UK by the time I cut across France I am out of speed cams.

Ideas, workarounds?

You are lucky you didn't have one of these units when that limit was set to 300. If I remember correctly it is at 1000 or 3000 now.
