Hey guys-

I bought a DVD player that has an input for a remote extender. The one that came with it is huge and since I'm mounting it in my car I want it to be a small as possible

I've searched Google and eBay and I can't come up with what I need. Its a little IR receiver eye that ends in a 3.5 mm headphone jack with two stripes on it.

Does anyone know exactly what its called? Or where I can get one?

Thanks for any help

I'll check my box at work tomorrow, I might have one I can send you. If it do, it's about 1/2" tall, 1" deep, and 3/4" wide.

The one I purchased for my Avox is about the same dimensions, and has the 3.5mm plug. I purchased it from here:

but of course free is always better ;) Check with your installer friends. I heard Myron Davis installs always leave behind the IR extender ;)

Thanks for the offer cntrylvr, I really appreciate it.

The thing is, maybe these aren't the same, but the ones I'm thinking of are maybe 1/2" tall, by 1/4" wide by 1/4" deep.

I have one as an extender for my Leapfrog IR extenders to send the signal through walls, and its about that size, but it only has one strip on the jack and doesn't work in the DVD player.

Thats what I'm thinking of, but is that the same thing as what I'm asking for?

Paisan. You're funny. You know what I meant my finger slipped.

Sportsfan. The stripe you're talking about is it a black band? The overall shaped of the repeater doesn't really matter.

Yea its a black band on the plug.

I was just saying the size because the one I have, and the ones you are mentioning are both a lot bigger, so I was thinking that maybe I'm thinking of something different if the only ones I've found that work are 3x the size.
