my unit just stopped reading disks. please help does anyone have any solutions to fix this problem

You most likely have a hardware failure. Some people have been successful in replacing the laser. I have seen an ebay seller with 100% feedback that offers the repair service, or Pioneer has a $240 repair service. Let us know the route you take.

i have this issue also,one ebay user said 175 to fix..pioneer take 3-4 weeks

My Z3 just started to do this. I was actually in the middle of copying a CD to the HD and it just stopped and said "unreadable disc". I figured the little laser thing must have taken a shit.
