Hi all,

I have a weird problem. I have an Australian AVIC-F900BT. My bluetooth has just dropped out and when I try to re enable bluetooth i get an error "Application Tel has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down"

To make things more weird... When I go in to check out the bluetooth version, it just says "Not Found"

I have contacted Pioneer AUS and they sent me the latest bluetooth version for my unit, however this did not work. It starts to update then says "an error occurred and the update failed"

I contacted Pioneer AUS again and now they want me to take the unit out and give it to them to repair at a cost (out of warranty). I just asked them for the AVIC's software (as I am sure they will just reload it) and they wont give it to me.

The question I have is, does anyone know where I can find the AVIC software for the AU units?? I have been searching everywhere and can only find EU and US software. The Pioneer AUS website does not provide any software to download apart from the AVIC FEEDS software (which is not much use to me)

Please help!! I am currently running v3.020300 and the bluetooth version that I think I was running was v290 (Pioneer provided me with the v360 update)

If i have overlooked anything on this site where there actually is the software for the AU units, please let me know, and sorry for missing it

Do you know anyone else with an avic in Australia? Getting a back up off their avic isn't hard, but I have zero Aus files.

Unfortunately I dont know anyone else nearby with one :(

If anyone here is from Melbourne, feel free to let me know! Otherwise I will have to keep searching. What would happen if I downloaded the EU files for it?

Your best bet would be this... You need to find Aus Teleatlas or TomTom iGo R3 maps and plug them into hybrid 4.01 with a wince flash. I can explain how to do it if you can get the maps. A last resort would be to use testmode 2.3 go in make a copy of your unit and pull just the map data out and plug it in 4.01. This is a last resort as your files are partially corrupt and who knows where that corruption took place.

Short answer yes you can use the base of another avic region, BUT you may lose local features (example = your Australian navi voices)

Hmmmm, Might have a go at using the different region. Will have to get into testmode and back the whole unit up just incase i break it hahaha.

Thanks for that! :)
