You need to modify how you have contacts phone numbers or you need to get the phone book out of aviv and modify it in excel or a program ment to modify phone book data

The F series is very picky in the way the phone numbers are entered, and though your phone is smart enough to recognize the differences in incoming number patterns your avic is not. For example in the states the avic will not pop up with caller ID if you do not have the area code in front of the 7 digit number. It also struggles if you have an +#- in the number. Long story short it's picky and it's my biggest frustration with the unit.

If you search hacks/mods section for phonebook fixes you will learn a lot more. It's been about 2 years since I've modded mine in this way. The basics are is you need to get into test mode and copy the file where your phonebook is saved, copy it on to SD card. Then use a program to modify all your contact info so that it's in a format that avic will link to the appropriate name in your contacts.

the short story is you need to use testmode pull the phonebook.db out of your avic. put it in the program and edit it.
