Hey all,

I'm new to the boards. I just ordered my AVIC-Z1 and had a few questions before it gets here.

First off I have a 2007 Honda CR-V:

- Is there a wiring harness adapter available for this?

- Were can I find a dash kit for the Z1?

- I already have an XM antenna with service can I use this or do I need the accessory for the Z1?

- Can I use my factory steering wheel controls for volume etc..?

- I have read several security bypass methods which is the best for this unit/car?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!!

Hey all,

I'm new to the boards. I just ordered my AVIC-Z1 and had a few questions before it gets here.

A lot of these can be found with some quick searching on www.installer.com (or this forum).

First off I have a 2007 Honda CR-V:

Just showing off? :)

- Is there a wiring harness adapter available for this?

- Were can I find a dash kit for the Z1?

- I already have an XM antenna with service can I use this or do I need the accessory for the Z1?

You have an XM radio or circuit box with service... the antenna does not

have the service. I don't know for sure, because I haven't tried it and I

suppose anything is possible with enough reverse engineering and

hacking.... but you won't be able to use the XM radio, you will need the

Pioneer XM radio made for the Z1 and it might be possible that you can

pull the XM antenna out of the radio and reinsert it into the pioneer xm

radio and not have to run another antenna. But if you change radios, you

will lose the service, you might be able to call up XM and see if they will

switch the service from one radio's serial number to another. If you are

paying for it, they will. If this is the free service they give to new car

owners, I don't know if they will or not.

- Can I use my factory steering wheel controls for volume etc..?

Most of us use these:

Here is the link to the company's site for how to hook it up for a 07 CRV

Depends on when your Z1 was built, I'm assuming it will be after 07/06 so you will use the 07/06 instructions on my site:

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!!
