Where on a Chrysler vehicle do you connect the VSS wire? Is there a standard color code? Common place?
VSS connection & Chrysler product?
In new chrysler products, you use the c2r-chy for vss. Aside from that the only truly univeral place to get vss would be the transmission. As for color there really isn't a universally similar color.
If you use the Peripheral CHYAH05 http://www.peripheralelectronics.com/pr ... ch=chyah05 you get VSS, parking light, e-brake, reverse, accessory, and a SWIPS output for steering wheel control integration. And no car problems.
Hurray for databus interfaces!!!!!!!!

What vehicle did you use it in? Of what I found out, this unit will not work in a 07 Wrangler. Thats what you get, buying a new to the market vehicle. ![]()
As far as I know, the CHYAH-05 should work in the '07 Wrangler and Unlimited. I'm waiting on a verification from Peripheral's tech dept. as we speak.

I spoke to them today, and they actually had a meeting about the Can Bus in the 07 Wranger, which is different from the one in the Chrysler 300, and Durango.....it's CanBus 2, and here's the story...they're still de-bugging the CHYAH-05, even though it's on the market, and won't start in R&D on Can Bus 2 until they finish that....he said it'd be summertime when they expect to have the Can Bus 2 harness on ready. Skosh, and Metra will probably have product before then. They did help me look up the speedwire info for the '07 Wranger, and I believe this is it:
VSS Wire: PASSENGER FENDER 4 CONNECTOR COMPUTER 4TH GREEN CONNECTOR 38 PIN POSITION 32 MANUAL TRANSMISSION 3 CONNECTOR COMPUTER 1ST CONNECTOR POSITION 13
Yep, got the EXACT same answer from them. They said it was only that vehicle so far.
There ya go automakers making life difficult again....

I got the service manual in the meantime on disk, so hopefully the install tomorrow goes smooth.
Be careful about where you grab your accessory wire, the lighter socket is probably your best bet. Also. check with the Jeep dealer and make sure having the factory radio removed will not confuse the computer.
I checked with my local dealer, it has no effect as long as the installer knows what he is doing ![]()
Also, a friend had a Kenwood installed in his 07 Sahara yesterday with no ill effect.
Okay, then.
