I updated my z1 to z3 a few years ago and now my unit is freezing after about 5 minutes of being on. Unfortunately I threw away my old drive about 2 weeks ago and I wanted to see if it was the HD that's on its way out.

Does anyone have an original drive they can either let me borrow or sell to me. I don't want to buy a new updated one to find out it isn't the problem.

Drives are not interchangable unless it's unlocked. If you are local in the Dallas area, I can put a test drive in your headunit

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll just have to roll the dice and buy a new unlocked one.
