ok so the rear zone outputs are preouts low amprage a voltage, hence pre out, (like i said im MECP certified so this is degrating to ask, although "those who ask may look foolish for 5 minutes, those who dont ask remain follish forever" so im going to, i assume the screens with the AV inputs and headphone outputs have some sort of amplification i plan on running a set of these, basically for the reason i hear they muffel out ALOT of background noise, such as my frount speakers playing music for me, but i also assume they reqire a bit of power, more thena pre out would ever provide, so whats the deal hear?

also would anyone go as far as suggesting somthing cheaper that will do the trick?

do what trick? I didnt see a question in regards to the equipment other then suggesting a different product.

are you asking if overhead units have amps built in? yes some do, some have an additional piece that acts as an amp.

Or are you asking if the headphones block out full range sound? whether it is low muffled noise or actual music being produced through your other speakers. Yes, some do, your probably going to get into some expensive Headphones though like bose or something, probably not really worth it in a mobile enviroment unless your in your vehicle a alot and have the money to spend on it.

what do you mean by rear zone outputs? are you referring to the rear speaker output? or something else.

i was refering to the (rear monitor out, the rear zone output, the left/right and video) the rear chan (rear fill) is a completly different output i was told. but yeah i think i found somthing a little more suited to my needs, and its wireless and cheap.

and ill be running visor monitors along with headrest monitors so im also going to pick up there MVB1 (video splitter). I also plan on running a ps2 with wirless controllers (i dont think it will be a problem freq wize, with the wirless headphones) and also a xbox (yes i no xbox takes stupid amount of power (i have zero gauge wiring going to the trunk and a MASSIVE power inverter, so this wont be a problem, so i also plan on picking up the MTVT3 so i can select Ps2 or xbox or tv tuner (the output of this will be going to the AUX input of the deck. so that way all my passengers can enjoy a dvd or the use of the AUX in while i listen to my music and navigate about, perfect really.

also i no most screens have 2 inputs, so i could use input one for the Z1 dvd player and input 2 for the ps2/xbox/tv tunner, this way my passengers could do diffrent things, i dont want to wire it this way so will the way i explained work?

So let me make sure I'm understanding this. You want to use a set of studio quality headphones in a car? The noisiest environment next to a concert. You want to do it cheap as well? Well you get one or the other quality or cheap. Cheapest way is a pair of wireless headphones with an ir repeater for the audio signal, then fade the avic to the front. The wireless headphones will take care of the amplification and with those on will also block out most of the outside noise. As far as doing it with wired studio headphones. You will need an outboard amp/colume controller for each pair of headphones you want to jack in.

ok well another thing which way do you guys think would be better to wire the system. i understand diagram 1 would give people options say passenger 1 wants to watch a dvd from the avic z1, they would change to input "2" in there screens and there utalizing the output from the z1.

now passenger 2 wants to play a game, they can change to input 1 on there screen (thus leaving the z1 out of the loop and playing audo and video right from the splitter.... next say i park and want to get in on the game of ps2 can i watch the AUX soarce upfrount without interpupting pasengers 1 play of the dvd?

hears some SHITTY diagrams i drew let me know ( o and when it says video spitter lets assume it does audio to (i forgot that in my diagram)

and the second one this one would force all passengers to watch the same thing (this only utalizing one input on the screen)

so basically the breakdown question is, can i watch AUX input upfrount while DVD is still outputing to the rear seat.
