been digging through the forum to see if i could find a solution . got this unit from ebay claiming it was only missing harness antenna etc . my fault for waiting such a long time to get them to test the unit . now after finally getting the power harness the unit does not get past the splash screen .i have done an upgrade on one of these units in the past so i know how to get to the blue screen , one problem this one wont let me get to the blue screen to attempt to fix any of the files . any suggestions or is this thing toast?

Try running an official pioneer update then do service mode (blue screen) follow reboot thread link

you mean with a pioneer sd card? all of the fixes i have seen in the forum require to get into the blue screen to perform any kind of update etc . when attempting to do the eject reset map etc it just goes dark after a bit
