I'm brand new at this, and did a search, so if I missed it, no flames please. With all the complaining i hear about Ipod navigating, why can't you hook up an Ipod through the Aux Input, and navigate on the Ipod itself?
Aux Input for Ipod
uhh you can. blue wire mod will help with search and again can be done.
that gave me 1222 matches....can you narrow it down a little more?uhh you can. blue wire mod will help with search and again can be done.
how bout i just tell you.
You cut the blue wire that is within the ipod adapter case. this give the control to the ipod and not the avic. now if you want that control back you just connect the blue... so a switch would accomplish this also.
Thank you very much....I truly appreciate the help. I've been a member on many automobile forums (M5, Ford Superduty, Porsche, Jeep, Chrysler 300), so I know how annoying it can be when newbies bring up things that you've read about a zillion times.

Richard
tillithz, is that to hook up the ipod through the pioneer CD-IB100 adapter. This way you can control the ipod even though the docking port is hooked to the pioneer adapter.
RLandis, were you thinking of taking the audio out of the ipod and just running the rca's into the AV input on the Z1? Yes, that will work as well. Either way give you control at the ipod, but with the adapter and blue wire mod, you can control it from the Z1 as well.
