My F40 dims when the lights of the car go on...this is not smart of pioneer,my car's (Saab) lights are always on,isn't there a solution that the dimmer functions by gps?

What do you mean?

If it's on maps, you can change to "day" instant "Automatic" in colorsettings

You could replace the sidelight feed in the SatNav car loom with a feed from the headlights so your sidelight/running lights don't put the unit into night mode... It's a while since I had a Saab, but are the dash lights on all the time? If not a tap off that circuit would do the trick.

Had the same problem and contacted pioneer holland about this.

First they tought i meant function in navi mode, but also radio is dimmed when the lights are on. only option to fix that problem was to remove wire which is connected to the lights.

Now my system is on daylight mode always.

This is such a shame it can't be difficult to do a firmware upgrade,by gps the system could easy look for the stand of the sun.
