anyway i can use my ipod photo with a newer avic model? or any newer dock accessory?

unfortunately works in none of the 5 dock accesories ive got,  3 being pioneer units-

not sure why exactly,as  it came with a usb cable, but i just get an error msg on the ipods screen or a not supported on the accessories screen

the last unit i had that it worked with was a d3, long gone unfortunately

Try updating your iPod's firmware in iTunes, it worked for me. I was getting the error until I did.

Kind of late response, but my iPod Color (pretty much same as Photo) definitely does not work with my Z140BH. I just bought an old beatup 3Gs to play music

With the exception of the occasional freezes and reboots, my iPod Classic 160 gig works fine with my Z150.
