Icons on AR2 radio screen — AVIC411 Forum Archive

Hi everyone,

This may seem like a stupid question, but I just can't seem to figure out what 2 of the symbols on the radio screen actually do. One is a picture of a car and the other of an old-fashioned letter box. Anyone got any ideas?

what app are you using? What hardware and software? Please post pics or be more specific so we can try to help. The letterbox sounds like the icon in EC touch app that is supposed to be for your phone notifications.But im not sure unless you are more specific

I am talking about when using the stock radio app (not app radio mode).

The buttons I am talking about are at the bottom of the radio screen and when you press them they put corresponding symbols at the top (see pictures).

I do not have any of those icons. The message one either. Are you in the US? What version are you running? and do you use iphone or android?

Nope I'm UK and running an iphone 5 on the latest firmware. These icons were there right from when it was installed

Honestly I wish i can help but since my radio does not have these features then I cannot provide you with the answer you are looking for. Maybe the moderator VBLUE42 can chime in here?

Thanks anyway! It's strange because I cannot find it mentioned anywhere in the manual or online and I am yet to find any images online with the icons. The weird thing is pressing them seems to make absolutely no difference whatsoever, so I am very curious to know what they are!

Pretty sure the car is for traffic announcements. Not sure about the other one.

The other one is news interruption whatever that does, http://docs.pioneer.eu/Manuals/SPH_DA100_CXX4774_manual/ was in the manual.
