First off I am sorry if this topic was discussed in the past.   I have searched and with no avail as the results I was getting are pretty much false positives. 

 

 

I am embarking in a custom project where I would want to put the screen for the AVIC-F40BT in a location and the "brain" in a different location.   I was wondering if: 

anyone has done that? 

is it even possible? 

Is there a problem with resistance if the distance is too far? 

 

Although I have my heart set on the F40 and I know this is a pioneer centric forum, but if this is not possible on the F40 then can anyone suggest a different head unit?   (pioneer or other)?
