Hi Everyone,

Yesterday I Installed F700BT in my G35. Nothing seems to be working except GPS and RADIO. Everything else is just grey and inactive. All setting options, phone options, AV options are grey. It doesnot recognize my ipod, my CD, USB and not even an SD card. Everything just stays inactive.

The wiring was checked twice. Everything seemes ok and I know the unit is fine too cause it came out of my firneds car and it was working fine.

I cannot even reinstall firmware because its not recognizing any SD card. Its very frustating.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Had this happen with a unit that I bought used and am embarrassed to admit that the issue the whole time was the parking break wasn't engaged.  The only icons that could be viewed were the radio and AV settings, everything else was grayed out as you describe.  Once I put on the parking brake I could link the Bluetooth with my IPhone (pw is 1111 to link btw), get into the other settings etc.  Once your up, I would also check the sw versions and make sure you have the latest installed.  Pioneer has both the firmware and Bluetooth SW updates for the F700bt on their support site.  I followed the instructions and had no issues.

Hope this helps, good luck!

Hi Paul,

Thanks for your help. Appreciate it

The guy who did installation installed a bypass switch. He also told me that he grounded wire correctly.

However, there is no wire linked to parking break.( I have foot break). I saw him again and he said everything is fine its problem with my deck.

I think I have parking break problem too because every time I start car I get this message.

" CAUTION: system detected improper connection of parking break lead. Please check your configuration for safety. Please see operations manual for more information regarding safe operation"

I dont even know which one is parking break and how to install it. I thought if you have bypass switch then parking break is not an issues. May be I am wrong.

I am trying to find information on installing parking breaks wires.

If you know any useful threads, it would be great.

Thanks
