First: I'm reading that GPS can be in the vehicle and XM outside? Right now GPS is outside and my XM is inside(I dont care if i have atleast one outside(what one would you do?)

Second: WTH can pioneer come up with a single antenna? :P

Third: What is and What does this XM bypass do? I know of the xtra wire after the bluetooth fix to bypass. Is this the same one, or a different one? Thanks in advance.

1. XM antenna outside the vehicle. XM only has 4 satellites in space (soon to be 2), so the antenna outside would get the best signal. GPS antenna can be inside since there are many many more sats to lock onto.

2. Because each one uses a different receiver to pick up separate sat signals. Why not take the two you have apart, and create one monster of an antenna with the two receivers inside, and show us?

3. There is no bypass for the XM tuner.

Really? Why is that?

There was a design flaw made by Boeing when they built the satellites. Thats why XM3 (Rhythm) and XM4 (Blues) were launched earlier than anticipated. XM3 was meant to be a spare sat left here on the ground. When it was discovered the XM1 (Rock) & XM2 (Roll) wouldnt last the 15 years that was guaranteed by Boeing, XM3 was launched and XM4 was built and launched. XM1 and XM2 will be powered down and kept as in orbit spares for now, and XM5 (No name yet) has been completed and will be kept as a ground spare just in case.

Supposedly XM3, 4 & 5 all support Heirarchal Modulation (HM), but XM will not spill the beans yet. HM basically means more bandwith, better sounding channels. (Maybe one day all sat channels will be broadcast in High Def instead of the 2 or 3 now?)

Wow, didn't know that!

R.I.P XM 1 & 2, you served us well.

If the HD broadcast is for real, that will be great!
