Is there a way to port the X950 firmware on to the X930/X940?

No. They are different hardware platforms.
<= x40 == ARM cpu
x50 == SH4 cpu

x50 is probably based on the Renesas R-Car platform: http://am.renesas.com/products/soc/assp/automotive/index.jsp

Does anyone know which Renesas platform its based off of? Some are ARM cores, some are SH4. Knowing which unit specifically could help us with software modification
