ILL & late (07) Chrysler/Jeep connection?

I now have the ILL connected to the antenna power wire, always power. It works, but I have to manually change the day/night mode. I can't tie into the old radio harness because the dimmer/night voltage is only about 2.8 volts and is part of the CAM2 bus.

Any suggestion on another tie-in point?

I just had a z1 installed in my 05 Jeep GC and I needed some kind of adapter to get it to work properly. May or may not be the same to you and sorry I don't know the name of the adapter. I can try to find out though.

Thanks, It is a CAM BUS connector and the 05 is not the same as a 07

Correction CANbus Not CAMbus. There is not ill. behind the radio so you'll have to run a wire from the parking light circuit to the radio. where exactly to pick that up, I don't know since I've yet to work on an 07 and nothing I have lists the wiring yet.

I stand corrected

In the meantime I will live with a short cut, let us know if you find some info, thanks

I have an 07 Envoy w/ auto and day running lights. I tried everything and finally tied the Ill lead into the rear lights. They only come on when the sensor detects dark. Works perfectly.

In my quest for an ongoing education with this stuff, define Ill please.

Richard, it is the ILLumination wire and it also activates the day/night mode on the map display.
