since ford got rid of the actual VSS I opted to tap the output shaft speed sensor wire coming from the power train control module.

 

Now I get a low voltage read from that wire but it doesnt change very much at all as vehicle speed picks up.

 

will this wire work for the VSS or should I try and track down the speed sensor coming from one of the ABS units?

 

I am only using it because the metra axxess steering wheel control module mentions tapping the VSS.

I was told by an installer to use this wire last week but unfortunately it does not work.

 

Will search for a good location to tap the abs speed sensor at some point.
