First off I tried to search the solution on my phone will need to do more research on my PC.

I have had my HU for a month now and on the way back from a road trip from TX to NJ I started having some problems.

 

I have a x5500bhs hooked up with an axxess steering wheel control module. I also have a USB extension cable so that I can use the factory USB connection in the center console.

 

Problems:

During the drive I would loose steering wheel controls and the touch screen would not respond. The buttons on the HU itself still work (I didn't have the remote with me).

Eventually the controls would come back and everything was working. This would happen randomly during the trip.

When playing the iPod (classic) the screen would randomly switch the app mode.

While playing the iPod I would also get error codes 02-19 & 02-d0 for this i just reset the iPod and its fine.

 

Troubleshooting

When the steering wheel controls stopped my first thought was it was the axxess module. When I got home I removed the controller and would still get the non responsive touch screen (buttons still work) so for now I'm ruling out the axxess module.

While I was on the trip and the controls were not working I would use the buttons to switch the source to aux and when that happens I would regain controls and I can switch back to iPod and it was working.

I tried different iPod cables and even tried using my iPhone but the situation was still the same.

I still need to try an iPod cable directly into the back of the HU.

 

If anyone has any possible solutions it would be much appreciated.
