Maybe Time To Sue Pioneer

I am at the point where I may need to seek some legal recourse against this company.  The AVIC
series AppRadio is definitely a product that falls under false advertising and fraud.  After several months of
discovering differences between the SPH and AVIC series, it has been established that these two units were not designed the same yet they are marketed the same.  Most apps designed for the SPH series do not work on the AVIC series.  I just got shot in the foot again this weekend for about $60 worth of apps that don't run on the AVIC's AppRadio portion.  I first downloaded the wrong version of Sygic (North America) which is not recognized by Pioneer.  That was $30.  Then I downloaded the correct version of Sygic (USA) for another $25 to find out that the head unit just launches the app with a black screen.  So with all the taxes, etc. I'm down about $60.  It was bad enough that the free apps (like Best Parking) gave me the black screen but a paid app not tested on all models?  Come on...give me a break.

I can honestly say this is probably going to be my last Pioneer product.  When I go to CES each year and visit the Pioneer booth, nobody even knows what the hell I'm talking about half the time when asking questions.  I always have to wait for that ONE tech at the booth who may know something in order to answer any technical questions.  It's a very badly run company that honestly shouldn't be in existence anymore.  I've never owned a product so frustrating as this.

I feel your pain my friend. Been that way for years though. Typical of Japanese companies like this though. Kenwood has the same issues and is just as bad. Its almost like they are owned by the same parent company in Japan.

I think if there were more lawsuits, complaints, and bad publicity, it would force them to either improve or just get out altogether but without that, they're just going to keep on strummin' along the way they have been.  I've sued Apple in the past and beat them but of course it took months and months to get resolved.  Most people don't have the time, money, patience, or knowledge so a lot of these companies continue to get away with this crap.
