I looked on crutchfield and they said a Z1 won't fit in a 2007 GTI. I have a feeling this isn't true but don't really have anyway of figuring out. Does anyone know? Are there any install kits I'd need to get, other than a basic wiring harness adapter? thanks!

I just put one in my 2004 R32. I think the opening is the same. You need to get ADT-VA133 cage. Also the metra wiring harness. Metra 40-ev55 or 70-9003 and the antenna adapter... Other than that you should be ok

Ok, thanks. However, I thought the openings might be different, since the car has been redesigned for 2007.

They are a bit different but if i remember correctly still should fit. They said the Z1 would not fit in my car either.
