XM / Sirius merger. Will it affect Navtraffic?

Now that Sirius and XM have announced a merger, I wonder how it will affect us Z1ers? I have the Sirius adapter, and was bummed about not having the XM Traffic.

I wonder if us Sirius users will be able to access XM Navtraffic soon. I wouldn't mind having to but a new adapter, or even the XM unit if I could have both Sirius content AND XM Traffic all in one.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

What do you guys think?

Before the merger was announced, Sirius was developing a NavTraffic equivalent...this news was posted about 6 mos ago. Now I know why nothing has come of it because the two companies were looking at merging.

Gonna be a long, drawn out fight with the FCC before we will know if the merger will even be allowed. Could be years before we see any difference in service. In the mean time, I will have to keep listening to my Sirius while XM Navtraffic gets me stuck in traffic :)

I am serious! I thought it did! I did a Google on it and see only some Eclipse models and a few OEMs have the capability. Sorry! :(

No biggie, I just thought you were yanking my chain for the fun of it.

I wish I could have both, but I guess it will be a while before that happens.
