Remarks:
Firmware support for iPhone 5 and fifth generation iPod touch.
iPhone 5 compatibility requires the purchase of Pioneer CD-IV202NAVI interface cable kit, Apple® Lightning to VGA Adapter, and Apple USB to Lightning cable (each sold separately).
No need to install this update if you do not own an iPhone 5 or fifth generation iPod touch.
The update does not contain any changes for customers with iPhone 4/4S, except for one setting which defines the device
Settings --> AV Settings --> iPod Settings
"VGA" for iPhone 5 and fifth generation iPod touch
"30-pin" for iPhone 4/4S or compatible Android phones

That's what the update says, yes! But I've noticed that with my 3rd party reversing camera it's added the option of (adjustable) reversing guide lines to the screen & the iPod icon has changed. That' just what I've noticed in the last couple of days, so who knows if there's any other update.

Newbie here. I just got a used F700BT put in, and did the free 2.008 update from Pioneer. I do have an iPhone 5, but will this new update work on my U.S. unit, being from Pioneer's Italian site? Thanks.

It will not work on any first or second gen F series.

Hi all, did not know there was a 1st or 2nd generation.
1. what gen is the f700bt, had since 2009?
2. Do these undate include 2013 maps? 5.1 claims for products with map up dates , 4.6 claims for products without map up dates, I check both and did not find any map content.
3. Is this only for Europe? Im in the us.
4. any product key needed?
forgive the ignorance but I'm sure we all would rather not screw up the headunit.
