I installed a D2 and want to put my video ipod in the glovebox for video and audio use. I know that the Pioneer ipod interface sucks ass. My question is will something like the extreme roadmac cables work. A/V cables with the power plug for the ipod? And if this will bring video to the D2 how is the picture? Thanks

Yse it most definitely will let you view your video and hear sound through the D2. There are actually some generic cables on ebay that do the same thing for a much cheaper price. I am sure the quality would be equal to that of your ipod.

The bad thing about the AV cables is that you will now have to use the ipod controls to navigate everything.

I don't mind using the ipod to navigate things, I just need to make sure that I can still get power to the ipod during use. I mainly want to use it for movies on trips, this way there is no need to buy a seperate DVD player.

Yes, I have the ones on ebay that are similar to the cable you are planning on getting. It has a cigarette lighter plug and it keeps my ipod charged.

I have the extreme roadmac on my D2 and I am extremely pleased with it. Definitely a high quality cable. Video quality is pretty good. Not DVD quality but I guess it will depend on the size of the file on the ipod. I guess you can max the quality settings on the DVD rip but it would take up a ton of space on the ipod.

Overall I really am impressed with my set up.

Sounds good, I will have to get a set on order. I think they may sell the cables at walmart

How do I play video on my D2 with the ipod adapter? I plugged it in and I cant seem to get it working. I put it on TV out and still nothing?
