I'm wondering if anyone has installed the Z1 in a Superduty yet and if there are any know issues I should know about before installation day.

I do have one issue I'd like to try and get an answer on. I have located the Speed Sensor wire no problem but I have put larger tires on the truck since I bought it. I know this makes my speedo a little off but in regards to the Z1, does this REALLY make a difference? My understanding is that the speed sensor really only comes into play when there is no GPS signal (tunnel, ect.). I live in Phoenix, AZ so I'm not going to have any tunnel or mountain issues. I guess my question is: Do I need to fork over the dough for one of those units that recalibrates the speed?

One more: I'm looking for a decent rear montor set-up. I dont really want to cut my seats to put in headrest monitors because the seats are "one piece" seats with no detachable headrest. The ceiling is uneven at the location for a drop down monitor. I would prefer a drop down but am unsure of the specific application.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

I have a directed 15" WS drop down monitor being fed as a rear zone off the Z1, works great. Directed's new 15" monitors are HD. I would go with a directed set, they work well and have the built in IR devices with wireless headphones.

On the vss topic the unit has NO idea how many pulses = how many MPH, the unit learns how fast you are going buy collecting data on # of pulses compared to distance traveled via GPS/time. So when you upgrade your tires reset all your 3d data and it will recalibrate your vss input for the larger tires.

Great info. It's nice to see I don't need to get one of those units to recalibrate the speedo. Those Directed monitors look nice. I'l have to dig deep to get one after spending all my dough on the Z1, XM unit, BT unit, and TV tuner. Thanks for the info

The nice part is if you don't recalibrate your dash speedo you can use the Z1's speedo instead. ;)

Yep. You stock speedo will read as it always has. The Speedo in the Z1 will be more accurate.

Customers with their speed wire installed are usually happier with their Nav results. It's there might was well use it.

I can help you with some video if you need.

My Z1 is working just fine in a lifted 2004 F350. I haven't recallibrated the speedo in the dash. The speed sensor shows slow while looking at the test page (about half), but the speedometer gauge shows accurate on the vehicle dynamics page.
