I am thinking about getting the D3 but according to crutchfields website the D3 won't fit in my 04 tacoma. Do they know something I dont? I've seen pics of D1/D2s in other tacomas so is crutchfield wrong?

I've seen that for the D3 in my 06 tacoma as well. I think it's because you need an aftermarket kit that they don't have. The tacomas are double-din, so it shouldn't be a problem. They have dask kits at TacoTunes.com

Yeah, it appears that Crutchfield hasn't updated their information regarding the D3 and what it will fit.

I also have a double-din opening that fits the D3, even though Crutchfield says that it doesn't.

You will find that it won't fit anything according to their database. I had to call and verify before I ordered even though I knew it was a fit!
