Off road track file creation?

So I do alot of back country exploring. Following old roads till they dead end etc.

I was wondering if there was any way to use my AVIC-F90BT to create logs of the trails I have taken (mainly to back track on when I come to dead ends) and then save them out to be able to put them into google maps or another program to keep track of where I have been.

I know there is the record log feature on my nav but I have not entirely figured out how to use this and if it will record a track, then let me pull it back up and display it on the screen to use as a sort of navigation.

I desert race and in the race cars, we use the Lowerance GPS units to create tracks, add waypoints etc that can later be loaded and used to navigate trails but I would prefer to not have to install one in my dd. I also use a program called "ExpertGPS" to modify these logs after saving them on the gps unit itself if needed.

Thanks in advance.

Ok so I just spent a bit of time messing around with the track logs and was able to figure out how to create and save track logs along with viewing them in the 2d map mode. This is perfect for what I need but now the 2 problems I ran into.

1st. I can export the track logs but I was unable to figure out how to import a saved log from the sd card. This would be very useful so that I could save different logs and then upload them later if I want to re-explore or add new logs to a specific area.

2nd, I cannot figure out how to zoom in. The smart zoom is set at 200ft and when you are on tight trails, I would love to be able to zoom in even further however 200 is the lowest setting I can adjust to. Also turning off smart zoom does not seem to allow me to zoom either. What am I missing here?
