AppRadio3 - Do we really need CD-AH200C or is ET-H10FAUWESTA good enough?

Hi Guys,

I'm hoping to pick up an AppRadio 3 here in the next couple of days.  I'll be pairing it with a rooted Samsung Galaxy SIII (S3).  I've been doing a lot of research but haven't found any definitive answers. My question is simple: Do we need the Pioneer CD-AH200C Kit?

To me, it seems like we can just run a regular HDMI Cable from the back of the head unit to a Samsung MHL 2.0 HDTV Adapter.  Since my phone doesn't work with normal MHL adapters, do I need that Pioneer Kit?

I was excited to see that I had a reply, but then found out its spam...

Anyways, someone in another forum stated that they had a buddy that used the HDMI only to an MHL adapter with success. So my next question is: What is the USB Adapter used for then?

Charging. And the answer to your question has been covered on this forum a hundred times.

Nope. All you need is the MHL 2.0 and a micro USB cable. Run deck HDMI and deck USB to the MHL then MHL to Galaxy and blam. You got it with charging. Take that endless kit of common wires back, it's useleas. Especially for your device.
