I just had my X950DAB/F950DAB fitted. Now when my lights turn on the unit doesn't go into nightmode so now I'm driving around town with an annoying bright screen in the car.

In the settings it's set to automatic. If I remove the unit from my dash what should I look for?

You have to make sure that the lighting wire is connected to your car's lighting switch.  In my case (X930BT), it's the unit's orange/white wire.  Look in your installation manual.

I had the lighting wire on my x 950 connected to the lighting sense wire it it did not work it has to be connected to the switch or to a actual light for it to work

Alright. Even my official VW dealer couldn't find the problem.... They're also pretty expensive so I did not have them spent hours on it.

I'll drop my car at my local satnav installer and have them look at it.
