What does the "learning route" feature do? I use a new road that is not on the GPS all the time and it still does not know it is there! Yes I do have the learn feature on.

It's not a learn there is a new road that doesn't exist in the database... it's more of a:

 

The first day you have it you plan a route from your house and it tells you to go a certain way till you hit the highway... Well you decide you want to start out a different way to get to the highway. If you do that a couple times it's supposed to realize that section is your preferred route and use that from now on.
