I don't believe it... anything connected to the ipBus has stopped working (Sirius / XM / iPod)

Yeah, it's a wild statement and I haven't had chance to validate exactly what's gone bad (luckily, I have the Wife's D2 to play with which means I'll be able to determine whether it's just 1 of the components that's gone or the Z1 itself)

I'll keep y'all updated over the weekend (when I get chance to play with it)

Freakin radio SUCKS!

So your Z1 is fine and boots up , but all the add on modules are not working?

Maybe you should check to see if you blown a fuse.

I think I've isolated an issue, but haven't managed to confirm it yet

With ignition off, I get 12V along the constant power wire... with ignition on, I only see 7.5V on the power and contsant wire

Looks like I've got a floating ground somewhere

The car's in pieces, I'll get to it over the weekend

There's a floating ground in the z1's amp. But that's besides the point. What you probably have is a bad ground, or a bad fuse in the constant lead.

I'm leaning towards a bad ground personally

I'll keep y'all informed over the weekend, just hope it doesn't spoil my sister's visit (she's over here from England for the week and I know she wwants to drive the Stang sometime)

FOUND IT... BAD GROUND (I was grounding the anciliary components to the convertible top motor mount)

Some of the symptoms were very confusing about this but here's the skinny on what I found.

OCCASIONALLY the xm interface (first in line from the Z1 itself) would allow itself to be selected (intermittent selectability) and when it got selected.. immediately showed "Off" on the Z1 screen. MOST OF THE TIME it was unselectable

Hope this helps anyone else who's having problems with additional components connected to the IP-Bus interface.

glad to see you found the problem
