8000Nex Dual USB Question — AVIC411 Forum Archive

Hello there. I just purchased a AVIC-8000Nex for my mazda 3. I am currently waiting on parts to install it but I have a question while I wait. I read that this unit is dual usb supported. Will I be able to have a lightning cable on one for my iphone 5s and a 30 pin on another for my ipod classic?

Yes. Just make sure to connect Iphone to USB1. and ipod to usb2.

Would it be possible to connect 2 iPhones or 2 Droids at the same time? Reason I ask is I have an iPhone but my passenger may have an iPhone or Droid.

I'm interested in this as well. I often have a friend that unplugs my iphone to charge theirs...

I have an iPhone 5s hooked to USB 1, and an iPod to USB 2 but when my son gets in with me he plugs in his iPhone to usb 2 and I can choose music from my phone or his phone

Very cool. I doubt this work when using the iPhone for app mode with the digital av adapter though.

Only USB 1 will work with iPhone and app mode, you lose connection to USB 2 when you chose the adapter mode
