So here's my scenario...driving on a main road and drive into a local walmart. The navigation will throw me onto the closest road it "thinks" I'm on. Where can I take this off for it not to do this? Anyone experience this?

Everything you need to know is on page 204-205 of your manual. Its called map matching. Not sure if there is a way to turn it off, but it explains the reasons it can become confused and put you on parallel roads.
