Hi there
MP3s on the SD appear in alphabetical order based on song names (ID3 tags). Is there any option to order songs in an album based on track numbers? In my opinion this should be the default setting... but..
Thx

Agreed!!
Wait, what?
You may have stopped me from buying something that I would INSTANTLY regret.
I have ID3 tags on my MP3 files, but I also have the filenames arranged as "xx - Title" for each song, where "xx" is the track number.
If the head unit doesn't correctly sort tracks..... I don't want it for any price, including free.
I've been battling this for a while. There is an optimal MP3 tagging format to use that works. This has been a problem on all decks I've owned except JVC. Not sure why Pioneer still has this problem, but other manufacturers do as well
Sorting song by track number should only be done in Album view. Artist, Genre, or any other category, alphanumeric title sorting is the convention.
I'm on a NEX5000 and I can only sort on alpha in album view. I've tried formatting the MP3 tags in a variety of ways, and its always the same result. Is there a specific way to either name the file, or format the MP3 tag that allows for track number sorting in album view?
Just learned something interesting on the NEX5000. If I switch to File View on a USB/SD, then its in correct numerical order (my format has the number first on the file name), and it actually plays in order. On the Album view, it is alphabetical no matter what I do.

I just figured the same thing out on the 8000nex. The Folder Browse mode seems to be the only way to play things in order by track. It's a clunkier interface though. I just processed my SD card with the Mixtrax software (which was a pain in the rear but I got it done), so I'm interested to see if it reorganized things, or if it just added the BPM metadata.
