I've never had a pioneer with a detachable face.  My worry is that it would wear it out.

How well does it hold up if you remove it often?  

if you have the 5000 I think it would hold up for a long time. Its a small piece. 

I have the 4000.

I know there is no way to know since these are so new.  I was just wondering in general how these screens help up being removed a lot.

I'd like to know this as well.  I just picked up a 4000 & will probably remove it at least twice a day.  I've already had a couple of odd issues where the picture won't show up, then I detach & re-seat the screen & everything works just fine....

From having used the avh 8450 (8400 in the US) the detachable plate holds up fine after 18 months of continuous removals. So.etimes there's a bit of difficulty locking it back k in but once its in it all works just fine.
