Bluetooth works flawlessly, Aha perfect, Pandora great. Very happy with the system.

 

However, I have the USB plug connected and in the glove box. So far the only thing I know about this USB plug is that it charges my MotoX.

 

If I try to do anything else with phone connected with the 5000NEX, I get the cable not compatible prompt on the 5000.

 

Can this "magic" usb cable do anything more than just keep my phone charged? What are my options?

Learning more everyday. Usb flash for music and photos mate quite well. Also audio Bluetooth apps work well also. I installed a Police Scanner app, it comes in loud and clear.
