Pioneer UK just tweeted regarding the impending CarPlay update. Early August ETA. Fingers crossed.

We still don't know jack, don't have a release date,don't know if pioneer is not ready or if apple doesn't like what they see. Don't know if apple is holding out for iOS 8, who knows, we will know when we know. Boo it does suck.

It's about time we got something out of them. UK based info or not, I was worried they were just gonna drop the whole plan for the NEX receivers and just start a new CarPlay unit entirely.

That would be false advertising. They have it front and center on their website advertising carplay.

pioneer shouldve known better than to just blame apple for release dates.  im just hoping that when it does get release, its pretty much flawless because theyll have no excuse and can't pull the "oh well apple wanted us to release this now!"

I'm wondering if that's why apple keeps delaying them. I'm holding out hope that as infuriating as the wait is right now, that it will result in a fantastic update when it does come out.

Any bets that they're waiting for iOS 8?? Ultimately, I don't really think they care whether they deliver on time or not. They could always just blame Apple and same goes the other way around. The consumer is the one that gets shafted
