Just saw this blurb on Cnet.com. What stood out to me in particular was the following line:
"CarPlay will become available by the end of 2014 in select aftermarket Pioneer stereo head units."
By the end of 2014? Uh oh....I hope that's just a guess on their parts and not a sign of things to come.
Pioneer is still saying "Summer". Anything you see like the CNET article regarding a timeline is pretty much conjecture. This one in particular reads to me like the author or editor playing it safe. "well, we don't really have any idea when it will come out, so let's just say by the end of the year."
it also say "Ferrari have also promised implementation" and as we all know Ferrari already has carplay
Yeah, I figured it was just a writer guessing without any facts. I just didn't like seeing those words in print lol.
It is September and only a few months to go. Feels like "late 2014" to me and a safe comment when you don't have any further info.

This doesn't seem like anything we haven't already heard, though. We all knew that the major automakers were pushing back to late 2014 or early 2015. Just another writer without any new information to offer. Now, if the article had mentioned Pioneer, then I would be concerned.
