Is it me or does call quality seem horrible using CarPlay? It sounds like a heavily processed low sampled mp3.. Anyone else experiencing this?

Yes the quality is lower for me using CarPlay. It seems possible because the protocols used are not the same.
Yes same here. I actually removed my phone from the lightning cable in the middle of the phone call and it sounded better like it used to before CarPlay. What I noticed after plugging phone back into the lightning cable was the 8000NEX unit's bluetooth icon shows no connection. So, when connected to CarPlay, I don't think phone calls are going through the headunit's bluetooth.
When I got to work I double checked. My phone, while not connected to Carplay, is connected to the NEX's bluetooth. As soon as I plug in my iPhone into the lightning cable, the bluetooth connection between the iPhone and NEX unit is dropped. When I unplug the phone from the lightning cable the bluetooth connection is restored.
Really? I swear it sounds nicer....
Mine seems to be worse as well, but it's too soon to say for sure. The best description I can use is it sounds a tad metallic...
Call quality is a bit hit and miss for me normally, so time will tell.
